

Kirk Triplett Has 17-Under Weekend to Win Chrysler Classic of Tucson
Kirk Triplett started his final round with five straight birdies and had another four straight on the back nine, shooting a 63 to reach 22 under and claim his third PGA TOUR victory at the Chrysler Classic of Tucson.
Triplett, 44, was close to missing the cut after opening round results had him at 5 under. But he picked up the slack on the weekend, shooting a sizzling 17-under par and acing an impressive chip-in on No. 17. |

"That won the tournament for me, for sure", said Triplett. It also won him $540 000 from the $3 million purse.
Jerry Kelly shot 65 to finish at 21 under, alone in second place. Duffy Waldorf, the second- and third-round leader who seemed poised for his first victory in six years, ended up with 72, tied at 19 under with Bubba Watson and Heath Slocum.
This Chrysler Classic of Tucson victory is Triplett's best finish on the PGA TOUR to date, and his third career win. A native of Washington State, Triplett now lives in Scottsdale, Arizona. He shares this win with his wife and four children.
