He has pushed the boundaries of technical design and revolutionized the personal computer and animation industries. He is Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer Inc. and of Pixar, the Academy-Award winning animation studio.

As a young entrepreneur, Jobs co-founded Apple Computer Inc. with Stephen Wozniak in 1976. Apple ignited the personal computer revolution when it introduced the Apple II in the 1970s. The Apple II led a hardware revolution by reducing the size of computers and redefining consumer perceptions of the types of operations computers could perform. Apple then reinvented the personal computer in the 1980s with the introduction of the Macintosh.

In 1986, Jobs stepped down as chairman of Apple and started NeXTStep, a software and hardware venture, which was sold to Apple in 1997. In that same year, Jobs co-founded Pixar.

In 1997, after 10 years away from the company, Jobs was brought back to Apple as interim CEO. Under Jobs' direction, Apple launched a revolutionary, low-cost computer, the iMac, in 1998. The iMac demonstrated the incredible "think different" creativity of Apple's in-house industrial design team incorporating materials, colors, and shapes that had never before been used in computer design. The iMac was recognized as one of the world's most important cultural design statements and more than six million iMacs were sold, boosting Apple's stock price by 400%.

Apple Computer has been honored with countless design awards. The original iMac won several, including ID Magazine's "best of category," the Gold Award from British Design and Art Direction and "Object of the Year" by The Face magazine. Vogue called it "one of Spring's hottest fashion statements," and Business Week dubbed it "one of the century's lasting images."

Seven of Apple's creations are featured as part of the permanent design collection at the New York Museum of Modern Art, including Apple's Power Mac G4 Cube. Apple's current product lineup features products such as the Titanium PowerBook G4, the new iBook, Power Mac G4, iPod MP3 player and the new iMac G4, all of which have collected several notable design awards.

Jobs' guidance and vision has led Apple to remain committed to creating the best personal computers in the world and hardware and software products that are widely regarded as being the most innovative in the industry.

Jobs currently resides in California.
