The Design Quality Assurance's (DQA) role is to maintain design intent throughout vehicle development. During the vehicle design development phase DQA assists production studios in the generation of perfect surface release data. CATIA models are evaluated with a computer generated reflectivity using the DaimlerChrysler Rendering System (DCRS). In addition, DQA provides fit and finish guidelines and monitors the product through the development phase to final manufacturing.

The use of surface compensation, in-tool development, is often required. Modifications are monitored and evaluated by cross-functional core teams in an effort to produce vehicles that meet or exceed world class quality. During launch, DQA offers Design support to efficiently resolve functional build issues. The teams are maintained for post launch support to assure continuous product improvements.
