Performance
The Motor City Reclaims Its Name.
The Chrysler 200 S features the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine, coupled with the AutoStick six-speed transmission as standard equipment. It delivers 283 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.
This state-of-the-art engine features a compact, lightweight design with a dual-tuned intake manifold, dual-overhead camshafts and high-flow intake and exhaust ports — along with Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Throttle Control — and it's also available on the Chrysler 200 Touring and Limited models.
A Four-Cylinder Engine That Doesn't Feel Like One.
For efficient performance, the Chrysler 200 LX, Touring and Limited models feature a standard 173-horsepower 2.4L four-cylinder engine. It delivers fuel economy ratings of 20 city / 31 highway mpg+ and includes dual overhead camshafts, Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and Electronic Throttle Control. The four-cylinder is paired with the AutoStick six-speed transmission on the Chrysler 200 Touring and Limited models.
Advanced Technology Keeps You in Control.
For superb driver control, the Chrysler 200 includes standard stability features on every model. When it senses a difference between your steering input and actual vehicle motion, Electronic Stability Control+ applies selective braking and reduces engine power to guide you back on your intended path. All-speed traction control applies brake pressure to slipping wheels to regain traction. And Brake Assist applies and maintains maximum brake pressure in emergency braking situations to help you stop in the shortest distance possible.
A Smooth Ride From a City
That Survived a Rough Patch.
Every Chrysler 200 has refined drive and handling dynamics that provide a smooth ride and highly responsive handling. A MacPherson front strut suspension is tuned to provide an optimum balance of handling and noise isolation, and the multi-link rear suspension allows individual articulation of the rear wheels over varying road surfaces to ensure a smooth ride. Comfort-tuned springs and shocks, stiffened body mounts and premium 17-inch or 18-inch performance tires provide excellent balance and road-gripping maneuverability.
