CHRYSLER BRAND APPLE CARPLAY® AND ANDROID AUTO FAQ
If your vehicle has a Uconnect® 5 system, Apple CarPlay® support or Android Auto integration is included. Select Uconnect 4 systems (those with a 7-inch, 8.4-inch or 12-inch touchscreen) also include Apple CarPlay support or Android Auto integration. Older Uconnect systems (model year 2016 and earlier) do not support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
If your Uconnect® system includes Apple CarPlay® support, you do not need to take any special steps to access CarPlay; simply connect your smartphone and your Uconnect system will do the rest.
If your Uconnect® system includes Android Auto integration and you are running version 10 of the Android OS, you do not need to take any special steps to access Android Auto; simply connect your smartphone and your Uconnect system will do the rest. If your smartphone is running the Android 9 OS or below, you will need to install the Android Auto app on your smartphone to connect to your Uconnect system.
If your vehicle has a Uconnect® 5 system, you can access Apple CarPlay® support or Android Auto integration wirelessly over Wi-Fi or by connecting your smartphone to your Uconnect system through the USB port. If your vehicle has a Uconnect 4 system that supports Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, you can access features by connecting your smartphone to the USB port.
